The South western town of Paphos is in an ideal position
to make the most of the Mediterranean’s varied
attractions. The mosaics of Paphos, The Tombs of the
Kings, The Medieval fort, Monasteries, fields after fields
of vines, citrus and banana trees, Akamas Nature Reserve
have prompted UNESCO to include Paphos in its World Heritage
List.
It was in Paphos shoreline that the mythological Goddess
Aphrodite was born and at Palaipafos, Kouklia lie the remains
the Goddess earliest sanctuary.
The recognition of Christianity happened here, where
Saint Paul converted the first ruler to the faith. Today
with
its high standard of modern cosmopolitan town, there
still remains a strong sense of history.
Paphos has become the most popular town in the island
for those wishing to retire or set up semi-permanent residence.
Unlike other towns, life continues beyond summer; and why
shouldn’t it when spring and autumn temperatures
are in the 70s.
